Methodist Chaplaincy House
WC1H 8BW, London
The Methodist Chaplaincy House at King's Cross is a student hostel that provides accommodation for 25 international students who wish to live in a Christian community while completing their degree in London. Due to the proposed redevelopment of the site, MCH is temporarily closed to students, but will re-open when the new building is complete.

About Methodist Chaplaincy House
Methodist Chaplaincy House is a home rather than a just a hall of residence. The house has a Christian ethos and students in the house share responsibility for establishing a community lifestyle which is underpinned by regular house meals, fellowship, Bible study and prayer groups, and social and recreational activities. Students are encouraged to take up specific leadership roles within the house.
Living in community at MCH requires all to exercise tolerance, goodwill, sensitivity, and above all, enthusiasm. It is a multi-cultural, diverse community, and as a result time spent here is continually enriching, offering an opportunity for personal growth. There is the opportunity to develop further skills and experience through volunteering with the King's Cross Winter Night Shelter.
Mission Statement
Methodist Chaplaincy House provides a safe, nurturing environment in which students can explore and develop their faith and spirituality. Life at MCH enables students to see Christ in action through loving kindness and hospitality.
Criteria for Applicants
Students must be studying full-time at a university in London. They must provide proof of student status when they apply for a room. Whilst we do not insist that students are Christians, they must understand and embrace the ethos of living in a Christian community, and they are strongly encouraged to participate in the life, worship and mission of the International Service whilst they are at MCH.
