On Sunday July 20th, we said goodbye to Reverend James Cruddas at a touching Leaving Service at Hinde Street Methodist Church.
Throughout this service, we all thanked James for his service as a workplace minister in the Civil Service. We were overjoyed to present him with a professionally printed photo of Hinde Street's iconic stained glass apse in hopes that it will inspire positive remembrances of his time with the West London Mission Circuit. As we also had the chance to meet James' family on the occasion, we presented the gift of book tokens to his children.
Following the morning's sermon by Reverend Peter Cornick, we invited James to reflect on his decade and a half at the West London Mission Circuit. James looked back on the sermon that started it all, and spoke eloquently on how his experiences as a workplace minister have shaped his relationship to faith, worship and vocation. As James bid us goodbye, he also reminded us of God's enduring love and urged us to lean on Him when we may struggle with the demands of our discipleship, whether in ministry, in the workplace, or elsewhere.
A heartfelt thanks once more to James, and best wishes to your new appointment from us at Hinde Street!
